Storyline:
Rio tells the story of Blu, a domesticated blue macaw who has never learned to fly and lives comfortably with his owner, Linda, in Minnesota. Blu’s life changes when he is taken to Rio de Janeiro by an ornithologist named Tulio, who hopes to introduce him to Jewel, a wild female macaw. The plan is to help save their species from extinction.
However, Blu and Jewel are kidnapped by smugglers who want to sell them on the black market. As the two birds escape and embark on a journey through the colorful and vibrant streets of Rio, Blu must overcome his fear of flying, with the help of Jewel and some new friends they meet along the way. The adventure is filled with music, dance, and a celebration of the beauty of Rio.
